#nowplaying: Phil Collins - Sussido
I need to have a Sussido dance party in my life sometime in the near future - LOVE ME SOME PHIL COLLINS!!!
AHH!! so so so much is going on right now, dudes - my life = made. First up, the new media production company is actually doing pretty rad. We are officially and formally one week up and running, and I'm jazzed man. My job right now is to give the sales team all of the tools they need to be able to sell sponsorships and sponsored adventures - but it's really really REALLY amazing the feedback we have been getting from everyone. I am very humbled, but also very aware we are onto something epic- just grateful that the team gets that and with their own unique perspective add tremendous value to the company as a whole.
So rad!!!
Yesterday, @meowmistidawn and I taped our first show for our new project that has yet to be announced. We were dying through the taping - it's going to be great! Love that chick, she's so grounded - and as a team we both have such interesting life experience that compliments each other. It's kinda gnarly actually. Very very very stoked to announce the project very soon.
From there, she invited me to this live nude bondage art gallery called Dr. Sketchys. Art students came in and got to draw naked, and nearly naked people for a few hours. It was pretty cool, seeing boobies is never a bad thing, but I got most excited about all of the weird masks and shit they had lying around ...
I can very honestly say this was the first time in my life I ever wore a glittered gas mask ...
Dudes those paintings behind me, btw were done with blood. That was LITERALLY the coolest thing ever. ever. ever. I'm not a blood person, but it was RADDDDDD getting to see what someone could create with it.
We had a great night followed by some late night grub at Fred 62's. Their breakfast burrito was SOOOOO YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!!!! Seriously some of the best food I have ever had - ahmmmmaazing!!
I have a super busy week coming up. Finishing up season 3 of Vidblogger Nation, followed by more meetings with networks - and I have to write out the pitch for the unscripted show (which very honestly feels like the natural trajectory for a lifecaster), and I have to start my proposal for A Nerd's Guide to Being Unapologetically Awesome (aka my book with Foundry Media). It's a lot to be doing all of this, ANNND also have a scripted show in development, ANNNDD be starting a company - but this is what a personal brand is, man. You have to have all of these components and layers to it - it's definitely not easy, but I really really really enjoy it, so that's all that matters.
I leave for Philly on Friday for my big date with Steve Ward! Holy CRRAAPPP!! I am excited! I'm watching Tough Love right now to catch up! I just dig his intensity, and I'm super super super excited to talk about social dynamics - that is going to be AMAZING to get to pick his brain. mwahahahahahaha!! So so so excited.
Oh, and I'm also getting the new iPhone in a few weeks. I've had it with my Droid Charge. I was a tastemaker for it, and very honestly not mad at it - it's a really really REALLY great phone, but I think I literally killed the thing from being SUCH a heavy user. The camera (which was one of the best features on it) keeps saying "camera fail," service in general on the thing is intermittent (not a network thing - you can tell it's the phone), and I am consistently having to force close on apps. I have ZEERRRROOOOO tolerance for technology that doesn't work. The droid had SOOOO much potential man, but the battery life and now consistent failure is getting too frustrating. Life is too fabulous and happening too fast to not have a phone that can keep up with that. So, there you go! I will be officially running on all mac devices in a few weeks - pretty stoked.
Keep doing what you love, nerds!! And keep on keepin on!!
Sussido dance parties for everyone!!!! =) =) =)
