If you have ever been not so well off in the financial department, and single, then you probably are well aware of the budget date. Going out on a date with a limited amount of money is a tricky task to pull-off, because you want to have fun with the person, but you can not afford to have too much fun. When it comes to dating, the goal is to create a good impression- and needless to say, telling your date that you do not have enough money to grab a drink is not the best of impressions to make. It takes some creativity to makeover that situation smoothly, but it can be done. Here are a few ideas you can use the next time you find yourself in that kind of situation.
1. Have a picnic
A picnic is one of the best options to consider when trying to date on a budget. First of all, the picnic appeals to a person’s more romantic side. People do not go out on picnics these days, and it recalls a time when people could talk to each other without any outside distractions. This date will allow you time alone with your date, to talk and share food on the grass under the afternoon sun. Even better- if you really want to add some romance to it- is to have a candlelit picnic while the sun is setting. The budget is easy to manage because you can just grab some fruit, maybe a salad, some wine, cheese and bread and you will be good to go.
2. Have brunch
Going out for brunch instead of dinner is a much less expensive date idea. The price for brunch, when compared to dinner, can be almost half as less. Better yet, restaurants tend to have special deals for their brunch menu- including special happy hour prices. The cherry on top of the sundae is definitely the fact that if the date is going well, then it can last past brunch and well into the night.
3. Cook it yourself
The cost of cooking at home- with store bought ingredients- is much less than it would be going out to a restaurant or cafe. This could be a great chance to really impress your date, there are few things that anyone likes better than a well-cooked, tasty meal. You do not really have to be a good cook to pull this off, but you will have to do some test runs and find a good recipe that has stood the test of time.
4. Go for a nature walk!
Obviously, you can not really ask a date to go camping with you (that is, unless you have already been going out for a while,) but you can go hiking, rock climbing, fishing or a whole host of other outdoor activities. These dates are great because it allows both of you to work together and experience something together. Also, you pack your own food, so it works on most budgets.
