Dear @VModa, you have the best headphones EVER!

So, a couple weeks back, my Klipsch ear buds decided to take a trip up to heaven. They were such pieces of shit. Seriously. Klipsch, I'm calling you out - your product SUCKED!

I got 'em in September when a client bought them for me; they cost $80 big fat bucks. The sound quality overall was great, they really do drown out EVERYTHING - but only a couple weeks in they started to fray.

BADLY

Mind you, I am a HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY headphone user. I've been couch surfing for almost a solid year, and headphones are my only escape and the only way I can properly decompress. I literally have them in my ears 97% of the day. No joke. So, when it comes to a first hand review like this, one must account the level of usage; if this was Foursquare, I'd be a super user level 1,000. K? Got it?

When they finally decided to die a few weeks back - I was absolutely DEVASTATED! Not because of the quality, and not because they were awesome for any particular reason, frankly they were a massive pain in my ass having to constantly wrap the chord in electrical tape ... but because of the fact that I can't go out and buy new ones. When something breaks, and you're doing the whole sponsorship only way of life - it SUCKS! I can't just run out to Best Buy and pick up a pair. Thought about it ... thought about it ... remembered that my friend Alex works over at Vmoda. He had told me how great their headphones were, etc - I called in a HUGE favor and asked for a pair.

He gave me their Remix Audio in blush. Notice why my earbud color changed in all my pics to pink, lately? There ya go! It's from these duderinos.

Alrite, so they didn't even ask for a post or anything - was just honestly a fellow nerderino helping out a nerderino, but something went down the other day that I have to tell you made me now a LIFELONG customer of these folks.

Tuesday, I was cleaning the apartment - went over to the sink to rinse something out ... and the duderino that I'm staying with had filled the entire right side of the sink with water and bleach to wash the floor. Totally rad, whatever - but I didn't see it. Took one of my ear buds out, and BAMMMMMM!!!! Into the water it went! I didn't even notice right away, since I was rinsing something out. It honestly had to have been no more than 5 or 10 seconds, but I FREAKKKKEEEDDDDDDDD OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, in my type of scenario, it's not like I can just run out to the store. Something breaks, I'm totally screwed.

I put the ear bud back up to my ear, and I could actually still hear something. It was VERRRYYYYYY faded, but still there.

Immediately ran to the bathroom, grabbed my blowdrier - and on a very cool, low setting attempted to dry out the bud.

(The last thing I wanted to do was fry the thing, so the cool low setting made it all possible without causing more damage. I'm not a pro at these things, but this just made the most sense to my noggin.)

I very seriously almost started crying. I can't be without headphones. Like cannot cannot cannot. Couldn't believe I was such a wackadoodle noodle and didn't see the bleach either - but again, goes to show you my week. I put them down in a safe, no water near by area, and left them to dry out overnight. I kept beating myself up, but was hopeful that it wasn't totally blown since I could still hear even just a wee bit of music from it.

Flash forward to the next morning, I sprung up like a Mexican jumping bean, and ALAS! SUCCESS!!!

THEY STILL WORKED AFTER BEING SUBMERGED IN WATER?!?!!!!! Are you KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!

The sound in the ear bud came back 100%

Lifelong customer I be. Lifelong. Lifelong. Lifelong.

It's such better quality too. I can totally tell it's not going to fray because it has this weird super coat over it. Kudos, man! Vmoda headphones are CERTAINLY nerd approved.

Click here to check 'em out for yourself. They're not cheap, but MAN are they worth it!!

#wow
