RT: Creativity drives consumerism
I initally posted on this back in March, but it came up while pregaming last night ... and dude, people were dying. Here was an idea I had for a client that wasn't used, but I still think someone can do. *scene*
I come up with a lot of really, really, really, wacky marketing ideas. Unfortunately, sometimes my clients don't end up using them. I've decided to start posting the ones that I think would work but have yet to be served the justice they so deserve.
I had a client once approach me about doing something scandalous to set the digital world on fire, and get his name out there. (SHOCKING!! You want to get involved in this little thing called the internet?? How freaking innovative ... HA!) He said he wanted to sue someone ... he threw out names like Donald Trump, and a few others.
I told him that had been done, and was a bit boring. Us digital peeps LOVE new, new, NEW ideas!! I suggested he sue "The Most Interesting Man In the World." You know ... the dude from the Dos Equis commercial??
Here this one ...
It costs about $400 to file a lawsuit, and the grounds? I suggested he sued for defamation of character and slander ... for after all my client IS the Most Interesting Man In the World. He could attach SOOOooo many people to it! The actor, the agency, Dos Equis ... just enough viral awesomeness to create quite the stir and execute his ultimate goal, getting the word out!
I still think this is a pretty friggen funny idea! Hope someone has the balls to use it!
