#Randombling: Late Night with @LikesGoyBoys

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @LikesGoyBoys

The staff of #TNTML had ourselves a #NerdHerd last weekend; Jen Friel knows a thing or two about staff incentives! There was discourse, dancing, bathroom lines from Hades, and the greatest FacePalm known to man present. (I didn't have the heart to take a picture of that, I'm sure the lady in question had herself an Excedrin/Hair 'Of The Dog Morning After.)

I'm up late writing pitches and feeling really grateful; to be alive, to be a part of this site, to have interviewed some of my favorite artists recently, especially The Smashing Pumpkins and Richard Patrick of Filter. Both bands were thrilled with what I wrote about them, and as one of your resident music nerds, it has been such a boost! The best part? SP & Filter fans have embraced me completely, and with that said, I'm going to veer into nerd territory for a moment.

Richard Feynman is my favorite sexy nerd. He loved writing and discovering things, and one of my favorite things he wrote is called, "What Do You Care What Other People Think?" - which is always great to keep in mind. Jen is fond of saying that life is reflective, that before anybody can appreciate how unapologetically awesome you really are, you have to embrace and believe in that whole-heartedly for yourself. It's taken time for me to get there, and it helps to have people to inspire you along the way. My buddy Kade has supported me so much, and he brings a lot of laughter to my life.

At any rate, before I wrote the pieces on the Pumpkins and Filter, I was going through a really rough time, quite possibly one of the lowest points I've endured yet. After 4 days of sheer hell, I covered The Sunset Strip Music Festival, and it was like ascending to a place of bliss after really being down in it.

One day, I will look back at those 4 days of terror and laugh at them. I still have moments of panic, but they pass. The support of my friends and compatriots here at TNTML has been invaluable. Thank you all so much for being so good to me.

Let your friends and family know that you love them as a random act of kindness. When I've had moments of gloom lately, I read an email again from somebody I've never met that wanted to thank me for writing something aimed at them, or a new email comes through. I hit Jen, or @ManiacalMorgan up on Twitter to send love.

This is a late night crash-out message sent to you with love from me. Namaste, folks.

You can find me at this site because I love it! I'm also over at DefyAuthority.net, and you can talk to me on Twitter.com/LikesGoyBoys anytime!
