Is "Bald" The New Sexy?

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Awesome Applesauce: Charles Quevedo

In my teen years, I realized that I had inherited my family's receding hairline.  Every time I looked in the mirror, I knew that I would one day have that classic "male pattern baldness" appearance (lost of hair on the frontal area and on the crown of the scalp) that my father passed down to me.

When I entered the military, I usually kept my hairstyle very short since my superiors expected everybody to be well-groomed.  When I left the Navy, I chose to shave my head completely "bald" as a way not to fuss with whatever hair I had left.  The combover and wearing of toupees always seemed silly to me.  I just embraced my baldness.

Until this day, I STILL shave my head, doing it right in the comfort of my own bathroom.  Every 2 to 3 days, I lather my entire head with shaving foam and go to town on my scalp with a disposable razor, shaving it 3 times to make sure that it's all smooth and shiny.  At the end of my shaving session, my head looks like a shaved coconut ... and it looks pretty slick.  The only thing I have to worry about is when the sunlight bounces off my bald head and accidently blinds a passerby (drivers beware).

The "tough" look of a completely shaven head seems to be embraced more and more by male celebrities, making the "chrome dome" look extremely cool and trendy.  Bruce Willis, Samuel Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Ving Rhames, Shemar Moore, Joey Lawrence, Micheal Jordan, Andre Agassi, Jason Statham, and other celebrities have gone bald; inspiring regular fellas to do the same.

Decades ago, the shaven head look had been associated with criminals and other unsavory individuals.  But now-a-days; a shaven head is associated with someone who projects sophistication, maturity, and edgy magnetism.  Many women find the bald look very attractive ... and because of this, more men are embracing the manliness of a smooth top shave.

Does being completely bald make one appear MORE cooler and sexier?  Well, it really depends on the individual and how he carries himself.  Females will NOT be attracted to every bald man they meet.

As a bald man myself, I personally feel MORE confident with having no hair.  Just DON'T expect me to go around like "Kojak" (with a lollipop in my mouth) and saying something cool like, "Who loves ya', baby?"
