Hello Folks! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying out of the Heat! I know the Celtics wish they could! Hey--oh! That's right ladies and gents, I do sports with puns. (I'm pretty sure that's a pun) After Boston got dismantled by the younger, faster Heat by a score of 93-79, the Celtics are going to have to find a way to counter Miami's game one punch right in their grills. I'm not fan of Lebron's antics, but I'm sure he is a good guy and I know he is a hell of a basketball player. It is only a matter of time before he wins a championship and when he does it will be well deserved. It will be especially well deserved if he does it this year after one of Miami's key players, Chris Bosh, got injured in the prior series and is still unable to play.

Many experts theorized that Miami may have an easy road to the playoffs after the Bulls lost their star player Derrick Rose; and they are probably going to be right.

On the other side of the spectrum the veteran Spurs took down the firey Thunder in what was an extremely close and hard fought game. Oklahoma City held a 9 point lead entering the fourth quarter, but San Antonio didn't panic and went on a 39-27 run in the fourth quarter to beat the Thunder 101-98. I'll give you my take on this series by quoting one of my tweets from the other day, "Said before series started, Thunder are second favorite team so I want them to win, but if I was betting I'd go with the Spurs. #NBAPlayoffs." That about sums it up. The Spurs are so damn good and have so much experience it would be hard to pick anyone to beat them, but because the Thunder are so extremely talented it is hard to pick against them also. In the end, there is one thing that i have learned about the playoffs of any sport, and that is that experience will almost always defeat lack of experience. Of course, there are always exceptions, which is why sports are so much fun.

Don't forget to set your TIVO for game one of the Stanley Cup Championship series between the LA Kings and the New Jersey Devils this Wednesday at 8pm EST/5pm PST on NBC.

As I was writing this post, Mark Trumbo (@MTrumbo44) absolutely demolished a pitch for a walk-off home run to lead the Angels past the evil scum known as the New York Yankees! It doesn't get more exciting than a walk-off bomb, especially when it goes 450+ feet!

So, I have an idea that I would like to share with all of you. I am going to try and implement the twitter handles of all the people i talk about into my posts. I figure, why not? I am already following all of these people anyways, and maybe some of you will enjoy the wild, wacky and sometimes entertaining posts from these athletes.

That's all I got for this week! I'll be writing about the happenings of the NBA conference finals and the Stanley Cup finals next week. Remember, follow me @DerekJ_AllDay and spread the #TNTML love. Peace!
