#YayLife: Dudes, they let me keep the staples from my head!! (pic)
AHH!! What a day yesterday!!
First up, I went to the Hollywood Police Department to meet with the victim's advocate duderino from the DA's office. Dude, the waiting room of the Hollywood Police Department was literally the scariest place ever. I. WAS. SHAKING. waiting for them to call me.
And no, unfortunately Charlie Sheen wasn't there.
THEEENNNNNN ... I went back up to Sunset to thank the Russian ladies for saving my life. Totes found out that I DID see the dude who hit me (COMPLETELY forgot about this since I literally wasn't even able to speak at the time - but the SECOND they said it I freaked out crying going omg omg omg I remember! It was so Hallmark it was redic), only to find out that the attacker ALSO stole shiznat from a liquor store after he hit me (as he was also being chased/ followed by the Russian ladies) and was then held at gunpoint by the cops at Hollywood and Highland.
This explains partially though why his bail was set at 1.075 million dollars. You HAAADDD to know there was some other sheisty shit going down.
THEEENNNNNN ... I went to get my staples out since I found out from the DA's office that I was covered medically from the state of CA for up to 65K in my medical expenses. (There's this gnarly fund I'll tell you guys about, and if you're ever the victim of an assault or attack TOTALLY take them up on it!! They found me via outreach, but this program LITERALLY saved my life by allowing me to seek medical treatment. Such a fan of this program - and not a lot of people know about it.)
I was ineligible to go to the Venice Family Clinic (you can't go there and live in Hollywood), and after trying to take the staples out myself - I just went back to Cedars since it was 100% covered.
Ah.Maze.Ing and I can't believe they let me keep my staples!!
I'll tell you all the whole story in a bit. Right now I have to get ready to run out to the Social Media Rockstar Summit for the Grammys.
Going to be a delightful afternoon of nerdness and music.
THENNNNN ... I'm going to this Sony Vita event tonight. Good good shit all around.
But yeah! Full story coming in a bit. Yesterday was hands down one of the most overwhelmingly awesome and emotional days that I've had in a while. I literally couldn't utter the sentence "thank you" I just started balling hysterically. It was so cheesy, and so great because there was so much love and gratitude, but they're also Russian and not quite sure how to handle this weird looking Irish chick standing in their salon crying. They're so TOUGH emotionally ... it was comedic gold.
Tells a funny story, I'll write it today. But for reals, post on my Facebook page and tell me what to do with these staples. I'm thinking earrings or necklace, but let me know if you think of something more clever.
