She's currently in a relationship of 8 years, and her dating record prior had been puddle jumps from 3 months here ... to 3 months there. These are her thoughts on life, love, and all things nerd. Hit it Jen!! </editorsnote>

There’s no better way to show someone you like them than with a little flirting.  Some people are naturally flirty and just have this appeal as part of their character, whilst for others it can take a bit of work.  This can be especially hard for guys (as girls tend to have these wiley charms that just get boys interested) and is probably part of the reason that some guys can find it difficult to get the girl of their dreams even though they might be the perfect guy for her.

Use indirect language.  Direct can be predictable.  By not getting straight to the point you’re building suspense, but don’t go all weird about it, you will eventually have to say what you mean.  You can be a little cheeky with your wording and concentrate more on your body language. Stand confident, don't cross your arms and try to stay within 2 feet when talking (but don't overcrowd her).

Girls love a guy with a warm smile that changes effects more than just their mouth.  Girls like a guy whose smile goes into their eyes - sappy maybe, but attractive...most definitely.  Try to make your smile as inviting as possible.  Now use your eyes to your advantage.  Look in her eyes in the right way and you can make her fall in love with you.  Maintain eye contact when she is talking to you.

Make her laugh and you can make her do anything (not that I’m saying girls are easy!).  Girls love guys who can keep them laughing forever. A good sense of humor is always a turn on.  Whatever you say or do, make sure you do it confidently.  Confidence is your best friend.

Compliment her often, but not always and come across as a romantic at heart.  Girls will never be able to resist this.

Use your talents - if you are a good dancer, take her somewhere you could ask her to dance.  If you are a great singer, you can sing a song to her.  Girls like to be impressed so it's never too bad to show off your talents once in a while, but don’t overdo it.

The best tip that I could ever give you is, be genuine. No matter what you do or say, never seem fake.  Girls can see right through a guy who's not acting himself.  A dishonest guy is an instant turn off.  So say something like you mean it and do something with your whole being.  You wont always get it right the first time so practice is the key.  However as you try and keep trying, you just keep getting better and better with time.

Play smart.  Play safe.  (...and if you can’t play safe make sure you leave your number on her nightstand).
