#Gaming can combat #LazyEye

Holy crap. Finally gaming is for more than bed sores and wasting time. Do you have amblyopia (lazy eye) or know someone who does? According to a new study by the Helen Willis Neuroscience Institute at UC Berkeley and the School of Optometry, playing video games can actually help combat lazy eye.
2-3 out of every 100 children are born with amblyopia. Children are made to wear a patch over their good eye which forces the brain to use the weak eye. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for adults. There are very few known options for adults that have a lazy eye. Until now.
The test was comprised of 20 subjects ages 20 - 60. They were split into two groups and played video games for 2 hours at a time over the course of a month. One group played action games while the other played non-action games. After 40 hours, both groups showed a 30% increase in visual activity in the bad eye. That's the equivalent of 120 hours of regular occlusion therapy which I'm sure is horribly boring.
Now when your girlfriend/wife/mom/roommate (or boyfriend/husband for our female gamers) yells at you for spending too much time hogging the TV, just tell them that you are taking proactive measures to combat lazy eye. They wouldn't want you to get lazy eye, would they?
