@LAIdiot on Why He is Loving His Life

I’m broke. You can count my clients list on my left hand. I’m on the verge of couch surfing. I’m as single as a dollar bill. AND I FREAKING LOVE MY LIFE!
No one said starting a company would be easy. I was even told by a respected Facebook employee, “There is something inherently ‘crazy’ about anyone starting a company because the failure rate is so high.” I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again to anyone who will listen to me. It’s the most rewarding feeling ever!
I am doing what so many are afraid to do…take the first step. I am enduring levels of poverty because it’s a necessary step for me to get where I want. Yes, I only have a few clients and my website isn’t exactly how I want it…that’s ok. I’ve only been in business for 10 weeks! The process though has been sooooooo much fun. The end result of this arduous process will be nirvana. That’s why I’m calm and ok that I’m living like a college kid again. This is a means to an end, this is my sacrifice for my dream.
I am a small business owner. I can do what I want. I have such a great time creating my own brand’s image and strategy while simultaneously working on my clients’ brands. It’s fantastic. I wake up happy. If I’m working at midnight, I’m happy. I don’t watch the clock, waiting until 5pm. One thing I’ve learned over the years, you can’t put a price on happiness.
Happiness is also brainstorming sessions with my business partner. This is our company, we set the rules…you know what we decided yesterday? We decided to lay in the park, admire the surrounding architecture, take in the natural beauty around us, let our minds go free, and bounce strategy ideas off of each other. Our ideas were inspired. We want our positive emotion to be reflected in our work. It was pure bliss.
My life isn’t easy, but I love my life. It’s something few people can say. No matter what life throws at me, I am ready for it. I’m prepared to navigate the chilly waters of entrepreneurship. I’m chasing my dream and that’s why I love my life.
