@SyFy Originals -- B-Movies We Secretly Love!
#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Awesome Applesauce: Charles Quevedo
I'm a connoisseur of low-budget Science Fiction & Horror "B-Movies". I grew up watching Roger Corman films and couldn't get enough of them ("The Wasp Woman" was my favorite). They were cheaply made and had storylines that seemed ridiculous, but that's what was fun about watching them.
The @SyFy Channel is carrying on the tradition of bringing us those kind of "B-Movies". Originally known as the "Sci-Fi" Channel, they rebranded themselves in July 2009. Even though the spelling of their name changed, the original stories that they were known for continues on. For many years, they've entertained us with some of the best "B-Movies" I have ever seen. They are independent films made by production companies, on a budget ranging from $1 to $2 million each, then later acquired by the "SyFy" network. Sure, their make-up & digital effects (and maybe some of the acting) aren't the best, but who cares. Their storylines are always interesting (sometimes even laughable); usually consisting of venging ghosts, mythological & urban myth monsters, genetic-engineered hybrid creatures, prehistoric beasts, and apocolyptic weather ... everything a "B-Movie" nerd loves.
You gotta love some of their titles:
