The "Cosmic Cube" To Connect Marvel's Films!

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Awesome Applesauce: Charles Quevedo

I've heard that Marvel Studios is introducing the "Cosmic Cube" in the upcoming film, "Captain America: The First Avenger", which will be the device to tie into the company's other comic book projects, "Thor" and "The Avengers".

In the comics, the "Cosmic Cube" is a containment unit for vast extradimensional energies, giving it's wielder almost unlimited power to bend reality.

According to CHUD.com, this is how the "Cosmic Cube" connects the Marvel movies together ...

"The setting is Norway, 1942.  "The Red Skull" (a power-hungry Nazi officer, before actually becoming "The Red Skull") smashes through the front of an ancient temple and sends his Nazi goons to a crypt, looking for something called, "The Tessaract".  They open up a sarcophagus and find a large, misty cube atop the corpse of a Crusader.  But the Skull can't be fooled, and he knows it's a fake, smashing it to the ground.  But he then finds a hidden compartment in a wall carving of "Yggdrasil, The Norse Tree of Life".  And within that a box, the contents of which glow an unearthly blue."

With the "Cosmic Cube" connected to Norse mythology and having the power to alter reality, this sets up a very imaginative storyline to bring "Captain America" (a World War 2 super-soldier) and "Thor" (a Norse god from Asgard) together for "The Avengers" (a modern-day superhero team).

Months ago, I was worried on how Marvel was going to bring all "The Avengers" together and have the connected storylines make sense (as much as they can in a comic book movie), but with the "Cosmic Cube" being introduced, I have high hopes for all three films succeeding.

I don't know about the rest of you comic nerds, but I'm all giddy with excitement!
