Darren Aronofsky's #RoboCop Remake Is Dead!
#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Awesome Applesauce: Charles Quevedo
Bad news for all you Sci-Fi nerds who were looking forward for Darren Aronofsky's remake of the 1987 smash hit film, "RoboCop". According to GeeksOfDoom.com, the project is officially dead.
The film that spawned two sequels, a television series, a comic book series, and a toy line; is the latest MGM film to be given the axe (the latest "James Bond" film was cancelled recently). Some of the studio's other film projects are being threatened with being shelved, as well. The company's rumored financial troubles is a possible contribution to this (MGM announced recently it is going bankrupt). According to a Financial Times article, it was noted that the company spent a lot of money acquiring scripts and developing these projects but didn't have any films to actually make them.
For all those that were NOT excited about the remake about our favorite mechanical law enforcement officer, you can now let out a sigh of relief ... the project isn't happening.
What is RoboCop going to do now?
