#GreenLantern Costume Revealed! #Giddy!
#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Awesome Applesauce: Charles Quevedo
Okay, comic & scifi- nerds, here's some awesomeness for you. Thanks to "Entertainment Weekly" and MTV.com, we're able to reveal the Green Lantern costume that actor Ryan Reynolds will be wearing for the upcoming "Green Lantern" movie (due out in theaters on June 17, 2011).
Photo on the left, Ryan Reynolds in "Green Lantern" costume ("digitally-painted" on) on the cover of "Entertainment Weekly" magazine. Photo on the right, the black and grey spandex suit (with "motion-capture" sensors all over it) that Reynolds actually wears on the movie set. Once the scenes are shot, Reynolds' sensors will allow for the costume to be added "digitally" via post-production technology.
Although some fans are disappointed that the "Green Lantern" costume WON'T be an ACTUAL costume that one can touch, this may be easier for Reynolds to move around in. Actors who have played in superhero movies in the past (mainly in the old Tim Burton & Joel Schumacher-directed "Batman" franchise) had complained about restricted movement and excessive body heat from within while wearing a rubber-type costume during production. Something tells me that a "digital" costume WON'T look as realistic, but will probably STILL look badass!
An added bonus, we get to see a photo of Reynold's character, "Hal Jordan" (Green Lantern's alter-ego), receiving his "Green Lantern Corps" power ring.
