Predators

#TalkNerdyToMeLover's @maniacalmorgan

I have to start by saying that I loved Predator and Predator 2. I was always a huge fan ever since I was little. Watching Arnold running through the jungle covered in mud, hunting the hunter is burned into my brain. The Aliens vs Predator series didn't do the Aliens or Predator movies any justice. Now, did the newest addition to the franchise spell redemption?

The movie starts fast and stays intense throughout most of it. This was largely due to the fact that there was no complicated plot that needed explaining. "This planet is a game reserve. We're the game." Predator = bad, human = good.

Visually, the movie met my expectations. Explosions, guns, and gore. Could you really expect anything less? Considering that the movie takes place on another world, they did a pretty good job of making the it feel alien. The CGI was good, but didn't particularly take my breath away. All in all, it was solid in the effects department.

The acting was good, but that's not really the selling point in a movie like this. Very much like the original Predator, this movie consisted of people running through the jungle fighting what couldn't be seen.  A shadow here, a movement there, the cast does a good job of making the Predators come to life. This very well could just be me, but sometimes actors can't escape a certain role in my eyes. Every time Topher Grace was shown, all I saw was Eric Foreman. I couldn't help it.

All in all, Predators was an entertaining movie. I'm glad I saw it in theaters and would recommend seeing it. It wasn't out of this world amazing, but it was fun and worth the $8.75 (I bought a child's ticket). Enjoy, have fun, and happy hunting!
