Submission to #blogworld = DONE!!!

I've been RACKING my brain for about the last month or so trying to formulate my pitch to Blogworld. I am completely incapable of writing a pitch. This is why I have utilized my extended network as much as I have - because I recognize said weakness.

That being said, I got a little unconventional ... and decided that was the only way this thing could have possibly gotten done. Ladies and germs, this is my pitch to blog world titled: The Monetization of Unapologetic Awesomeness: The future of multi-media web based platforms.

*waves* Hi, my name is Jen Friel. I know this needs to be in third person, and am clearly intelligent enough to take direction ... however I don't feel that third person can also thoroughly express my passion enough. *My apologies if that disqualifies this post – I assure you however, this is worth the read.*

I took $10, and an idea, turned it into 1.5 million, made web history and sparked a revolution uniting the nerdy folk in celebration of unapologetic awesomeness.

It all started when I went through a quarter life crisis unlike any other. Sparked by an epic break up, fueled by consulting jobs that lead to nothing but frustration, and the slow death of a close family member – life was almost not worth living. I took that sense of desperation, overall woe, and lack of motivation and parlayed that into an idea of creating my “perfect life.” What did that mean to me, this whole notion of perfection?

I wanted to be in a world where life was lived on an even playing field. I believed that if people focused their actions and intent solely on things that they felt so good about and were in fact so good at executing, their energy would be fully harnessed and it would create this powerhouse team that would be unstoppable. My idea was to unite the nerdy folk – celebrating their unique awesomeness in an unapologetic manner. After all, being awesome is something you would never apologize for.

I create multi-media web based platforms that integrate all the workable elements of social media enabling them to all talk to one another. I am a marketer through and through, and new media is my playground. I come up with creative and innovative ways of expressing ideas and telling stories via twitter, facebook, twitpics, livestreaming, blogging, and vlogging.

Rather than getting bogged down by clients that didn’t understand my forward thinking in new media – I just created my own website, my own platform, and invited the nerdy folk to come over and play on it. The result? We are currently ranked 230,000 in the world, 40,000 in the US – and with a staff of 22, and being just shy of 8 months old, we are just getting started.

This is great and all … I see the oohhss and ahhhssss … however understand this, I’m not special – I’m just AWESOME! Anyone can do this! I was just the first to connect all the dots.

Connecting those dots created channels built within social media that enabled messages to be sent out at record breaking rates; having enthusiastic, and unapologetically awesome people communicate those messages made it go viral that much faster. (I very literally would not be here today if it were not for each retweet, and unique view.)

I give people permission to be awesome. That has opened more doors than you could possibly imagine. There is no cookie cutter way to establish your brand within social media, however if you actually get social while putting down the ego and picking up the hustle – life will surprise you in ways you couldn’t possibly imagine.

Thank you for your time.

Special thanks to @kworkman for the reminders to submit ... greatly appreciated el nerderino! #NerdsUnite
