I was just SO focused on having my rent every month, that the stress was a total creative killer. I was focused on one set amount, while 100,000 times that was zooming by. Stress is entirely man made, it is a reaction to a stressor - that's it!!! Stop being stressed, start getting clever!
I created this site, I marketed and promoted the content - I did this. That has sent my confidence THROUGHHH THE ROOOFFFF!! When I meet with CEOs and various investors, you will never. EVER. see me pimping out my analytics, or catch me with a business plan ... you're not buying the traffic on this site, you are leasing my passion. I eat. sleep. and breathe the content on this site. My home is on the interwebz and my heart is in promoting the passion and sharing it with others. I celebrate unapologetic awesomeness, this isn't curing cancer - but it started a revolution. I have found what makes me tick, what makes me want a second, third, fourth, and fifth, helping of this crazy little thing called life. Isn't that what we are supposed to be doing anyway in life? CELEBRATING IT?! I mean have we all gone mad?! Every. Single. Day. you are alive is a blessing. Every. SINGLE. Day. is another day that could change it all for you. You just have to want it!! On November 3rd of 2009, I wanted it SOOO badly. I had just come out of a gnarly relationship, was going through the quarter life crisis, I was watching my family hold a candle light vigil for my dying grandmother - and was met with NOTHING but resentment over the fact that I refused to mourn her death. I only cried because I questioned if she ever knew how to live ...
This started as the SIMPLEST idea ... unite the nerdy folk. Create really funny, cool content taking all the workable elements of social media and use them as wheels to promote the vision. DUHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Go - do something YOU see today. Don't be a Monday morning quarterback. I associated the ACTION to all of this. It hasn't been easy, but it certainly has been rewarding.
