#NewApp: Meet ... PlacePop
LOVE THIS!!! I'm always down for people sending me info on their new apps, or products. Feel free to email me JenFriel@TalkNerdyToMeLover.com. Just got this one from a Miss Julia Graham ... Gather round kiddies!!
Hi Jen,
It's nice to meet you via email. I know that you're passionate about all things social media, and that you've been excited about location-based iPhone apps recently, so I wanted to reach out and put a new app called PlacePop on your radar. (http://placepop.com)To put it simply, PlacePop is a location-based social app that aims to be a loyalty ‘punch card' for every local business in the world. The app is designed to be fun and extremely straightforward to use, but unlike other location-sharing apps such as Foursquare and Gowalla, PlacePop provides a purely social experience rather than a game. We are also creating a rewards crowdsourcing platform for local businesses: users can suggest deals or offers they would like to receive (like MyStarbucksIdea or Dell Ideastorm - but for every local business in the world).
As an early adopter of location-based apps, I thought you might like to take PlacePop for a test drive. If you have some time to try it out, I would really love to hear your feedback on the product we have so far. Since we are relatively new to the space, your feedback would be incredibly valuable!
You can find the app (free) here in the iTunes store: http://itunes.com/app/placepop
You can also use PlacePop on the web at: http://placepop.comYou can also check out some of our recent press on TheNextWeb.com - http://thenextweb.com/location/2010/03/21/placepop-stealthy-frills-social-checkin-app/
Thank you for your time, and I hope to connect with you on PlacePop soon!
Best regards,
Julia Graham

About PlacePop:
PlacePop lets you collect, share, and be rewarded by the places you go: cafés, bars, restaurants, parks, airports...everywhere.
Start ‘checking in’ at your favorite places and you can:
- Build status at your places, so they can reward you.
- Show your friends where you go.
- Share live photos of places (like of bands at a nightclub.)
- Collect your favorite places, at home and on trips.
Be one of the first to try PlacePop for your iPhone – available free at the app store: http://itunes.com/app/placepop
I haven't downloaded it yet ... and I have to admit my own personal bias for Foursquare ... but check it out, and let me know your thoughts ... #NerdsUnite
