What Happened to @PeteCashmore??

Alrite, alrite ... I've seen the tweets ... and since my response is longer than 140 characters, I've decided to post on it.

As you all may remember, or if you are new ... get informed ... I have an incredible love for Pete Cashmore. No for reals, he started my favorite site EVER Mashable - and I even successfully crashed the Grammys to meet the dude.

So why have I stopped the Daily Tweets to Pete?

Honestly, I was a bit turned off by the dude. He's super hot, super smart, and potentially a bit socially awkward. Funny, considering he is the reigning king of social media ... but even after I crashed the grammys, I never got a follow. Never a, hey that was pretty cool ... whatever. It's not like I was looking for an award or a breast to pin it on, but just a simple - "wow that was cool" would have been nice. I'm a HUGE lover of mashable so if for nothing else, acknowleding that would have made my nerdy little heart sing.

I mean let's face facts here, did I ever think that I was going to crash the grammys - meet Pete - and somehow live happily ever after? No. Pete was a goal for me. I made a very deliberate statement that I wanted to meet Pete on the red carpet at the grammys. I called everyone I thought I needed to, and even though at the VERY last minute - every chip was down ... I still got dressed, and pretended like I knew what I was doing.

I realized the moment I actually crashed the grammys that the saying "where there is a will, there is a way" is true. I had ABSOLUTELY no connections at the grammys - just sheer will. That's it!!!! So, I owe Pete a big thank you for that moment in my life. It was HUGGEEE!!! And pretty much the catalyst for all the weird crazy things I do now, as I FINALLY get this whole "you are only limited by your own imagination" thing.

Also, even if for whatever reason you didn't want to friend/ or follow me because encouraging crazy people is very rarely a good idea ... how about my dear friend Ali? I have ABSOLUTELY nothing to gain from this, except the fact that Ali is one cool mofo, and was VERY excited when she friended me to even have a connection to Pete Cashmore. You see where I'm getting at here?

I love, love, love mashable, and I love, love, love the mashable crew ... however that definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and although I never hold a grudge I can't fake the fact that I'm not really as in love with the dude as I was before. This site is the real deal. Every video I post, every article, any anything is something I genuinely stumbled upon as this is a real time blog about everything cool and relevant in social media.

So, sorry Pete to put you on blast. I was left a bit disenchanted by you not even friending Ali. I'm not asking for a lot here - but dude, no one is too cool for school to simply accept a friend request, even if you didn't want to acknowledge my successful crashing of the grammys, friending a cool girl who's a very big fan of yours on Facebook seems the least a guy can do.

There.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
