Add #Foursquare to your Facebook Fan Page
A hoi hoi mateys,
Just saw someone post on Foursquare that they added a Foursquare map to their tab. Translation: I want, I want, I want!! 
It took me a minute, but I figured it out ... Check out PlaceWidget.
It is more for branding purposes than anything, but for business owners it is a pretty gnarly way for companies big, and small, to score more brownie points with the cool kids. It also reminds them to check-in when they are actually at the location which is in and of itself an advertisement for your company. *whew* take a breath - I just get so darn excited!!
Check out these screen shots ...
This is where you can add your company's location.
- Enter in the address first, and then location name.
- Select which fan page you want it to be placed on.
It then populates a map that looks like this.
- To add it to your tab navigation up at the top, go to edit page.
- Scroll down to where you see PlaceWidget.
- Select Application Settings.
- Select ADD where it says Tab: Added
Bada bing!
Now if you really want to get fancy schmancy, you can default this Foursquare page to be the landing page anytime a new visitor comes to your Facebook fan page.
To do that ..
- Go back to the Edit Page navigation Select Wall Settings.
- Find the drop down for FourSquare
Pretty easy breezy. I'm sure there's going to be an actual Foursquare tab in the near future! Or if there is one already ... let me know! Please note, this does not jump around with you as you checkin on FourSquare. It is a set location, that you can go in and change at any given moment. That can definitely be a pain, but this is more to announce to people that not only do you use Foursquare, but they do too - and they should check in at your location. Again, this is more for branding purposes and engaging your customer base. Afterall, is there anything cooler than Foursquare right now?!?! Uhhhh ... I don't think SO!!!!
