Weird Dreams!
#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Awesome Applesauce: Charles Quevedo
Have you ever had a weird dream, that when you wake up from it, you just say, "WTF?!"...?
Everybody... yes, everybody... has had at least one weird dream in their life. Sometimes the dream is funny and pleasant. Sometimes the dream is twisted and horrifying. It feels so real, you would swear it was.
While you're sleeping, you're propelled to another world, a surrealistic one where the laws of physics don't apply. You can fly. You can bounce off the walls. You can walk on the ocean. You can do anything in your dream... anything except being able to completely control it. Your dream can turn on you in a moment, turning into a "nightmare".
Science has tried to describe a dream as kind of a symbolic road sign, subconsciously pointing us to things we need to know for our waking lives. The supernatural side of it would describe a dream as a metaphysical superhighway for the soul to cross into and explore other people's dreams. When it comes right down to it, nobody really knows why we have weird dreams?
What is your weirdest dream? Tell us...
MY WEIRDEST DREAM:
Many years ago, I had this dream that freaked me out and has stayed with me for the longest time. From what I can remember from the dream, I was in a darkened room, my wrists tied to a bed with rope. Comedian, "Carrot Top", came out of the shadows, his face (with the freakiest little smile) became visible, coming closer... and closer... and closer to mine.
Then, suddenly... I heard pounding on my locked bedroom door! I jolted up in bed, snapping out of my dream. I was soaked in sweat, my breath huffing and puffing heavily. I looked around in the darkness, trying to focus my eyes. I realized I was in my bedroom. It was just a dream. I continued hearing the pounding on my door... it was my father trying to knock down my door to help me. From what family members told me, I was screaming in my sleep like crazy!
Until this day, I STILL don't understand what that dream was about (well, I can speculate, but I just DON'T like thinking about it). But for the longest time, I was so traumatized, I had to leave the room every time I saw Carrot Top in those AT&T commercials. True story.
*SPECIAL NOTE: Please be aware that I'm NOT trying to insult Mr. Carrot Top (or make him look like he's a bad person). I'm merely telling a story about a dream I had (which happened to involve him). I'm sure he's a nice guy in real life. I repeat... this was only a dream.
