#FiestaMovement: Ultimate Test Drive ... #SXSW
#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Always Be Coding
Recently I had the chance to trek with Team LA 1500 miles to Austin, Texas. I have clocked a lot of highway miles in a many different vehicles, and the new Ford Fiesta seemed fit to the task. Great visibility, comfortable seats, ample leg room in the back. Everything seemed pretty standard for the class but I was surprised by some of the features... Triple turn signals, and automatic windshield wipers. These are normally features found in German made cars and make highway driving a pleasure. Also the engine was quite zippy once its gets up to speed. It was easy to pass (in the duration of the three turn signal blinks none-the-less).
The USB port worked better than expected and handled everything we stuck in it...Droids, Flash Drives, iPods, Chili Cheese Fritos. Ford's SYNC technology (yes it was made by Microsoft) actually deserves some acclaim and even supports stereo bluetooth (A2DP). The steering wheel controls were great, and even the misplaced speech command button was a big plus. The climate control was a breeze although all the controls were in centigrade. That being said.. I came up with a quick conversion while bored on the road.... Take the temp in Celsius. Each degree is 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit. So just double it and take off 10% and then offset by 32. Yeah I know its not that simple... If you're lazy, do nine for every five and add 32. 5 = 9 and then + 32. Anyways, we saw everywhere from -1 degree celsius, to 24 degrees celsius while we were on the road.
All in all, I can't wait to see the American version when Team LA gets their nerdy hands on it next month.
... that is all. This has been @bound008 checkin in.
