Life in moving pictures
#TalkNerdyToMeLover's Ponder This
What do you do if you want to shoot a video that documents a normal day in the city of New York but you only have a camera?
Well, you use what you have and make it happen.
In August of 2009 photographer and visual effects artist Sam O'Hare took his cam and shoot over 35,000 pictures within 5 days to combine them to an amazing film called 'The Sandpit'. Through the help of many people he was able to shot from rooftops and balconies all over New York to create this kind of 'mini look'.
If you're a techie here are some additional infos: He shot the pictures with a Nikon D3 and a Tamron 17-50mm as well as a Sigma 50.150mm lens. The shots were taken at 4fps since this is the fastest rate the camera can write onto the memory card. It has an automatic cut off after 130 shots so he had to count the clicks and re-press the shutter release after 130 shots. He edited the whole footage with Adobe Lightroom and produced the final clip in 1080p.
If you're interested in all the details and music of the clip read this interview.
