SEO vs. Web 2.0?

I keep seeing posts like this all over ... people saying it is the end of SEO, social media, social media, social media.

Blah.
Blah.
Blah.

Any SEO will tell you, we think backwards. Similar to the classic sales psychoanalytical mantra: Why are they buying?
Don't focus on the sale, but figure out why people would want to buy what you are selling. Why would people want to come to the site? How are we getting them there? ...

SEO and Web 2.0 (as I prefer to call it), need to be worked on together - not be put in a cage battle where the ultimate champion is the one who can escape ...
Thank GOD we have web 2.0, but sites like Facebook and Twitter aren't the only places where people look for information. They are still going to search engines. Given, a strong Facebook and Twitter presence is and of itself the ultimate in organic optimization - the traditional SEO work cannot be ignored.

Don't be a n00b. Stay in the know! Google rank is still important!
